Ty2 brief Bio.
Mbangweta Mwendaweli Aka Ty2 Aka ‘Biggbouyy’, Born 11th June. Started music in a choir during his school days, was mostly influenced by reggae and Hip hop. In 2003, he was introduced to David Sling Beats where he began working on his first studio album. He has become to be recognized as one of Zambia’s New School music pioneers.
Came on scene with Ninakupasa Love as his very first single then released his first hit single, Smile.
He has five studio albums to his name.
The First album Smile, second album called Ty2, the third Nu Beginning, the fourth titled Forever and the Fifth which he called Ty2 ft Ty2 and it is in this album that he reintroduced his singing side as compared to the deep voice rap side that many know him for.
He Left Zambia in 2006 to pursue his marketing education at London Bridge Business Academy in London UK, which he later switched to Human Resource Management and it was during that stay that he recorded the Nu beginning album which featured the massive hit, Nikukonde, with Andrea from iguana studios in brixton, London on production.
He later returned to Africa. Spent a few months in lusaka and relocated to Namibia. It was in Namibia that he worked with renowned Namibian gospel artist, Dnaff and many other other artists. He worked with Producers like Trace from House of Legends, Arafattah from Tripple9 studios.
He is currently about drop his new album and also in the studio working on his Gospel album.
In 2005 he was nominated for awards such as Kora award in the Best Reggae, RaggaAfrica category and back home for a 2005 Ngoma Award.
He also did some charity work for Butterfly tree Organization.Recorded an album with an orphan Child to help boast her music career endeavors.
